| Recently, botanists were excited to discover a new species of plant, which they have named Giganticus Mattricus Coreopsis , or Giant Mattress Flower, in the town of Red Bluff. Currently, there is not much known about this plant, as it seemingly sprang up overnight. As of yet, scientists are uncertain if this new species is an annual and will complete its entire life cycle in just one year. "There is hope that the giant flowers we are seeing will last long enough for more in-depth research to be done," said Dr. Sealy-Serta, who is heading up the team that plans to dissect the flower down to its fibers and to encourage its growth in less disturbed, roadside areas. "We would like to see this plant in a more natural setting. Although we can't tell you much at this point, we believe the root system would draw more nutrients from a richer soil like the one we see at our local landfill." |
