We loved the parade this year. It appeared that parade participants were really getting into
"Candy Cane Lane" theme. Some had even decorated their horses' legs
in candy stripes. Before the parade, we checked out
Village Pottery,
651 Main Street. It's absolutely
incredible inside, with unique and beautiful things
everywhere you look. When you enter the shop, the wonderful aroma of Yankee brand
candles greets you and charming Christmas music sets a real village type atmosphere.
Here are some pictures...
What I bought:
a candle for my mom with a "Spice
Cake" scent and a candle for myself
(too hard to resist!) with a scent
called "Cookies for Santa."
Another thing I bought
(yeah, for myself!) was a cinnamon
scented "Yankee Car Jar" to hang from
the rearview mirror~very nice!
I found some cards...a
perfect one for
my sister that really sums up our
relationship. It has two little outlaw
girls and says:
"We took to makin' trouble like most
women take to makin' biscuits."
My parents can attest to the truth in this!
So much to choose from...I'll be returning before Christmas.
All of the pottery is made in America and most of it is made by local artists.

Enjoy shopping...

After checking out the pottery shop, we watched the parade.
Here are some of the entries:
This one announces that the
"Trailer Park Troubadours "
will be in concert
at the State Theater in December.
This Polar Express themed
entry received a lot of cheers.
When I first read this float sign and saw
"Meat Goats," I refused to believe
what I was seeing.
"It must be
Meet Goats,"
I thought. The little 4H girls love goats
and are hoping to
meet them.
"Meat Goats?" Daisy asked.
"They don't want eat a goat, do they?"
I wondered what to say.
Just then, one of our friends said,
"Merry Christmas...
unless you're a goat!"
It was a terrific night of fun.
I hope you enjoyed it.
