This week, I am sorry to report the closing of the Main Street Bird Sanctuary for Historic Pigeons. Yes, just days ago, birds were turned out into the July heat and out of their homes without warning... all the windows are suddenly closed!

Yesterday, Main Street looked like a horror movie, with pigeons everywhere. They were flying all over the place, walking on the tops of buildings, seemingly disoriented...I don't know the protocol on handling displaced pigeons. Homing pigeons without homes. Perhaps they are non-homing pigeons?

We say a fond farewell. I wonder if the building owner read about it here? I always wonder what people think when they see themselves here. Do they begin to get paranoid? And while I'm on the subject of paranoia... Here's a picture of a car that was parked outside of Costco in Redding. I'm still not sure exactly what it means.

People were gathered around it...shaking their heads in wonderment. One woman saw my camera and asked, "Do you know what it means?" I thought about it, then guessed, "It means that, if you're jogging and you see someone with a knife and an ice chest, you'd better run...they might be a human body parts supplier, and it also means you've forgotten your medication again." I don't think too many people in Red Bluff are paranoid. I mean, we had crop circles here just a couple of months ago and no one even talked about it! The Red Bluff Daily News ran a story on it but I missed it...no one told me! If you have a photo, please send it to me. Click here to email. This summer, I've finished repainting my son's room. Here are some pics. Hope you have a great week!
