My husband read this and said, you are so full of bologna! ...I don't know, I thought this article seemed plausible.
Actually, I've made a very personal resolution, not relating to this website.
Of course, I had everyone's favorite goal,
wanting to lose weight.
However, I got a head start on that, starting the day after Christmas.
Yeah, I even started to exercise at Tehama Family Fitness.
Scary thought for some of you that a family as, shall I say "different," as ours was
accepted for membership at a health club.
Just think, one of us might be on the treadmill next to you.
Since we're on our best behavior when out in public (well, most of the time),
you'd never guess who we are.

So, since exercise and weight loss could not be considered as a New Year's resolution
because I started these before Jan 1st, I made another promise to myself.
I decided to write a love song, a different kind of a love song, though.
Not everything is wonderful when it comes to love and I'm
tired of all the sappy songs I've been hearing.
I've already completed my resolution, and have written the most
negative love song possible.
You can read the words to the song next week.  I'm hoping that someone will put it to
music for me.  Anyone who records it can send me a copy and I'll publish it.
So, warm up your vocal chords and get ready to be creative next week.

Something else...

A most pleasant surprise occurred last Sunday when our family went grocery shopping
at Winco in Redding.  We had a cart
full of groceries and only spent $90.00.
I was so impressed, that I felt compelled to write a thank-you letter to Winco Foods.
Here it is...

Dear Sirs,

I was in your store last Sunday and was astounded by
the extreme size of the place.  Being from a small town, I
am accustomed to small stores.  Actually, I think my
whole town could fit in your store!  Maybe that is why I
became lost and wandered around a bit before I got my
bearings in the natural foods section (near the bakery, by
the numerous large bins containing the free samples).

I wanted to write to you and tell you how impressed I am
by your sparkling clean facility.  It carries such a wide
variety of food, and the prices were the lowest I have
ever seen.

I do have a question.  Our family of five bought an eight
piece chicken dinner for $6.58.  (For our side dish, we
had the JoJo potatoes.  I don't know why they are called
JoJo potatoes, if you know why, please enlighten me as I
have always wondered but never knew.)  Anyway, I
couldn't believe how
big the pieces of chicken were in
this meal.  Each of us could not finish the piece we had
selected from the box.  We were so full after this meal
that we are wondering what kind of chickens those were.
My husband thinks they were a cross with a turkey, but
I'm leaning toward emu because people are using those
birds for everything...and they're huge!  Regardless, it
was an excellent lunch and I don't care anymore what
people are saying about genetically altered birds, their
meat tastes better.

Thank you for your store and I do hope that you open
one in our town!

Thank you,
A Red Bluff Customer
There are some goals that we should always be working on, that we shouldn't wait for New
Year's to practice.  One is the art of being grateful.
I know that Winco Foods will be glad to get my letter of thanks.
Another important quality is that of helping others.
I have several close friends and family members who are trying to stop smoking.
In the spirit of selflessness, I have attempted to do all that I can to support them.
If you are also trying to quit smoking,
click here for the kind of help you'll only get from me.
Please write and tell me your success stories which stem from viewing the page.
I'll take them into consideration while I ponder my future as a
motivational speaker.

Happy New Year and don't forget to keep your promises...
especially the ones you make to yourself!
