What does it feel like to be a Christian?
At times, it feels like you're treading
water, barely able to keep your head
above the circumstances that
threaten to pull you down.
It feels like wanting to give up,
but you keep going because you
want God like you want
your next breath.
It feels like having an enemy
that's too big...
Other people laugh at your struggle
as you fight against an enemy
invisible to the world...invisible,
but
very real.  He hits hard and you
don't give up because you know the
destruction he is capable of causing.
It feels like a constant struggle to
remember your identity and your
true value.  It's saying,
"I'm important to God"
when the world says
you're disposable.
It feels like being a soldier.
There are moments of great triumph
when you feel you're truly a part of
advancing the kingdom of God.
However, this is not the only emotion that
Christians feel.  There are also those times when
you fight just to stay at your post.
It feels like your life is not your own
and that someone's else's hand is
guiding your every move.
Because at the end of the day, there's nothing better
than feeling safe...even in the midst of incredibly tough
circumstances.

It feels like you really
belong to someone...
someone who wants you close beside him.
Knowing this makes the life worthwhile...
and that's what being a Christian
really feels like.
You should be asking...why would someone choose this life?

It feels uncomfortable
when you are placed in situations
which you feel are not your area
of expertise. The potential for
embarrassment is quite high.

It feels like having to
depend on other people
who are pretty much in the
same situation you are.
It feels like you're free falling...
and only at the last possible minute
does your parachute open.
It feels like never knowing where
or when you'll land.
It feels like more adventure
than you ever thought possible...
being taken to the exact place you
never wanted to go.
