80's hairdo

Joe just fixed Daisy’s hair…he put it in a pony tail off
to one side. Now
that took me back to my high school
days! This inspired me to dig up some pictures of my
80’s days…those days when I ratted my hair to make it
big. It’s highly disturbing that recently I had a perm
and now when I look in the mirror, I see the same hair
from high school, but it's now framing an old face.

Here are Joe and I when we were dating.
Don't
we look like the happy couple?
Total bliss emanates from our faces as we
dream of our joyful future together.
Our ecstatic facial expressions say
"My gosh, you fill me with rapture!"
We had a big 16 by 20 made of this one. We framed it
and hung it on the wall of his parents' house.
After we were married, my mother in law gave
it back to us at the first opportunity.
I guess our somber faces were depressing everyone.
Looking at it now, I can't blame her.
Back then, it was vogue to stare at a soft light
with a blank look on your face.
See the sneer on my lips? I've got that
timeless
"I'll make your life hell" look.
Joe has an 80's hairdo going on as well.
Poof! The years and my big sleeves are gone...
No one can make me as happy as you do...
Looking through our family photos...
At our wedding...definitely happier!
I look at the wedding dress and wonder,
What was I thinking?

After the wedding, I made sure to have it cleaned
and sealed so that my daughter could wear it
someday. With that in mind, I just asked Linda Jo
what she thought of the dress.
"Too much lace!"
she exclaimed.
"Poofy sleeves! And that veil
looks like it's from India...all those
beads hanging
down!" Then, seeming to realize her insensitivity,
she tried to backtrack.
"But it's really pretty!"
Happy moments...

Jonah...yes, I am crying, too.
